TVDA
The Thames Valley Domestic Abuse Strategy Group (formerly TVDV) was set up to develop a more strategic approach to domestic abuse across all the key agencies in the area and to on from the Risky Business conference in May 2005. The Thames Valley Partnership was asked to chair the group on behalf of its parent bodies: the Thames Valley Criminal Justice Board and the meeting of the Chief Executives of the Local Authorities.
The TVDA has moved forward significantly in:
- The development of specialist domestic violence courts
- The development of MARACs (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Committees)
- A scoping of services across the Thames Valley against models of care framework
- Identifying the need for increased collaboration between Safeguarding Boards and MARACs
- Assessment of services for children and the importance of domestic violence as part of Every Child Matters
It continues to meet every three months and is still chaired by the Partnership. If you have examples of good practice that you would like to contribute, please e-mail them to admin@thamesvalleypartnership.org.uk.
We are always keen to learn what is going on both inside the Thames Valley and out.
